Role Overview:
As a Magento developer, you’ll be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Magento-based eCommerce solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of Magento's architecture and capabilities. This role involves both front-end and back-end development, focusing on creating a seamless and engaging online shopping experience. You will work closely with designers, project managers, and other developers to implement new features, customise themes, and integrate third-party services, ensuring high performance and scalability.
This role is a 3 month contract, with the option to be extended.

Responsibilities:
Their general responsibilities will include:
Design, develop, and implement custom Magento themes and modules. Customise and extend Magento functionalities to meet client requirements.
Provide ongoing maintenance and support for existing Magento websites, troubleshooting issues and implementing updates and patches.
Conduct thorough testing of the site to ensure functionality, performance, and security. Address any bugs or issues that arise.
Integrate third-party applications and APIs, including payment gateways, shipping services, and other essential e-commerce tools.
Ensure client platforms are optimised for speed and scalability, identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks.
Work closely with UI/UX designers to implement visually appealing and user-friendly interfaces. Collaborate with other developers and stakeholders to align on project goals and deliverables.
Comply with coding standards and technical design
Ensure you've written unit test cases to verify code is performing as expected and to prevent possibly security breaches
Convey progress of technical process to product manager
Must Haves:
At least 3 years of Magento experience
Experience with Laravel and/or wordpress highly regarded
Experience with using JavaScript frameworks such as React
Exposure to MySQL database design and writing SQL
Familiarity with responsive design principles and mobile-first development
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience
Expert level experience in web development technologies, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies
Experience with cloud platforms like AWS
Expert level understanding of Git
Excellent communication and presentation skills in English (both written and spoken)
Sharp and highly motivated personality
