Back End Developer

We offer an exciting opportunity for a skilled Backend Developer to join our team and become a key stakeholder through equity participation. As a Backend Developer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the foundation of our platform, contributing your expertise to build scalable backend systems that drive our growth and innovation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs to support the core functionality of the website.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and designers to define technical requirements and ensure smooth integration of frontend and backend systems.
• Optimize backend performance and scalability to handle large volumes of data and user traffic effectively.
• Implement security best practices to safeguard user data and ensure compliance with privacy regulations.
• Troubleshoot and debug backend issues, implementing efficient solutions to maintain platform stability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
• Proven experience in backend development, with a strong understanding of backend technologies and frameworks (e.g., Node.js, Django, Flask, Ruby on Rails, etc.).
• Proficiency in database design and management, with experience working with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Redis).
• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and experience in designing and implementing scalable API endpoints.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, including experience deploying and managing backend services in cloud environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in backend systems.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.

Being based in the SF Bay Area is a plus.
