Senior Oracle Developer

Project Description:

We are looking for an Oracle developer for our client - one of the world's largest natural resource companies.

You will be a part of a cross-functional team responsible for maintaining and modernization of the existing trading platform. It is a long-term project that will require close collaboration with business and IT stakeholders and the implementation of new features.

Responsibilities:

• Assess business requirements and provide development estimates

• Translate user requirements to user stories and technical task

• Work closely with BA and QA teams to deliver fit for purpose technical solutions

• Deliver quality code changes according to timescales provided

• Provide regular updates regarding development progress

• Act as part of the project team and be fully supportive to other members within the team

Mandatory Skills Description:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in an Oracle database environment

• Strong SQL skills for handling database requests and solid Oracle PL/SQL (Oracle v19.x) experience

• Strong SQL & PL/SQL experience including tuning, testing, and proper exception handling

• Have experience working on an application/transactional-based system rather than only on data warehousing/batch processing

• Experience with integration projects with significant data transformations

• Comfortable working with other developers to develop the packages for their use. The developer will be building the API for the PowerBuilder application and needs to collaborate with them to ensure the functionality works

• Designing and creating packages to expose the underlying application schema as an interface API to external applications

• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve application, interface, workflow, reporting, and data integrity issues

• Demonstrate understanding of software development life cycles like Agile and Waterfall

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• .NET or C#

• Experience with Kafka

• Experience with PowerServer 2021

• Understanding of PowerBuilder customizations and integrations
