Wordpress Developer (Plugins)

• Bachelor's in computer science or equivalent degree
• 1 to 3 years of experience with WordPress
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP programming
• Strong SQL knowledge (MySQL), database management and familiarity with techniques to identify slow queries and debugging.
• Strong experience in custom plugin, theme development, custom templates, modules, WordPress hooks and filters
• Experience with responsive and mobile-first web design principles.
• Should be able to tweak marketplace modules to meet requirements.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, and an understanding of browser console errors and debugging via developer tools.
• Good understanding of website performance optimization and security practices
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly.
• Familiarity working with version control tools such as Bitbucket, GitHub/Gitlab
• Bonus points for experience working with Google Cloud.

Responsibilities

• Participate in Agile Development methodology.
• Design, build, and maintain custom WordPress websites and applications, including developing and customizing WordPress themes, templates, and plugins according to client requirements and design specifications.
• Convert PSD or Sketch designs into WordPress themes.
• Troubleshoot and debug WordPress issues, including compatibility problems, plugin conflicts, and theme errors.
• Optimize website performance by implementing caching, minification, and asset optimization techniques and security to ensure a seamless user experience.
• Ensure website security by following best practices, implementing security measures, and staying updated with the latest vulnerabilities and patches.
• Consistently write code following industry best practices that is easily testable, easily understood by other developers, and accounts for edge cases and errors.
• Manually test the code and functionalities developed and thoroughly verify that the functionality conforms to the requirements.
• Perform code reviews of your colleagues and ensure it conforms to the task requirements and software development best practices.
• Shows initiative to create solutions, find improvements and offers assistance when needed without being asked.
• Takes ownership of projects, processes, domain and people and holds themselves accountable to achieve successful results.
• Communicate effectively, clearly, concisely and build strong relationships with their teammates and manager and stakeholders.
• Stay up to date with the latest developments in WordPress and related technologies.
