Senior Back-end Developer-Node.js

Location - Romania

Responsibilities:

• Design client-side and server-side and document technical architecture
• Work with development teams, product owners and technical owners to ideate software solutions
• Work in a key role in planning and implementing different parts of Virta’s systems
• Develop your skills towards taking technical ownership of some of our sub-systems
• Do a lot of practical software development in various projects to develop further our current services
• Write technical documentation
• Guide and instruct other developers who have less experience with node.js

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a back-end developer or similar role
• Knowledge of back-end language Node.js and preferably also PHP and frameworks such as Nest.js, Laravel
• Familiarity with databases (e.g. MySQL, Postgres)
• Familiarity with technologies like Redis and Elasticsearch
• Familiarity with Docker, K8s and REST API
• Familiarity with test driven architecture
• Work and communicate in a team
• Great communication skills and the ability to document things systematically and professionally
• Fluent in English, as it is the main working language at Virta
• Several years of experience with software development
• Current residence inside the EU

We consider it a plus if you have:

• Familiar with GraphQL
• Knowledge of front-end languages and libraries (e.g. HTML/ CSS, JavaScript, React)
• Knowledge of cloud services like AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, etc.
• Knowledge of RabbitMQ and Kafka
• Knowledge of microservices and event driven architectures
• Experience with CI/CD systems (GitLab) and DevOps tools (Terraform)
• Basic project management skills
• Currently, we are only considering candidates from Romania. We are not offering B2B contracts at this moment.
