The Role

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain high-quality, scalable, and efficient Java codebase for our ad-serving platform.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and other developers to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Design and implement new features and functionalities in the ad-serving system, focusing on performance optimization and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and debug complex issues in the ad server environment, providing timely resolutions to ensure uninterrupted service.
  • Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and enforce coding best practices to maintain code quality and consistency across the platform.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends in ad serving and digital advertising, and integrate relevant innovations into our platform.
  • Work closely with DevOps and infrastructure teams to deploy and maintain the ad-serving platform in a cloud- based environment.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, define technical specifications, and estimate development efforts for new projects and features.
  • Mentor junior developers, sharing knowledge and best practices to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the development team.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and provide support for production issues as needed, ensuring maximum uptime and reliability of the ad-serving platform.

Ideal Profile

Required Experience And Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience (7 years) as a Java developer, with expertise in developing scalable, high-performance applications.
  • Strong understanding of ad server technologies and concepts, including ad serving protocols (e.g., VAST, VPAID), targeting, tracking, and ad inventory management
  • Extensive experience with Java frameworks such as Spring, Hibernate, and Apache Struts.
  • Proficiency in database technologies such as SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, MongoDB).
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud Platform) and containerization technologies(e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Solid understanding of software development methodologies such as Agile and Scrum.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in a production environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • A self-starter with a passion for technology and a drive to stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices in ad serving and digital advertising.
