Position Overview:

As a WordPress Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining WordPress-based websites. You will collaborate closely with clients, designers, and other developers to create custom themes, plugins, and functionality that align with project requirements and best practices. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of WordPress architecture, PHP programming, web standards, and modern development workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop custom WordPress themes from scratch or modify existing themes to meet client requirements.
  2. Build custom plugins and extensions to enhance website functionality and meet project objectives.
  3. Collaborate with designers to implement pixel-perfect designs and ensure a seamless user experience across all devices.
  4. Optimize website performance, responsiveness, and security through efficient coding practices and plugin selection.
  5. Conduct thorough testing to identify and resolve bugs, compatibility issues, and other technical challenges.
  6. Integrate third-party APIs, services, and tools to extend website functionality as needed.
  7. Stay up-to-date with the latest WordPress trends, tools, and best practices to continuously improve development processes and deliver high-quality solutions.
  8. Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to clients and team members as needed.
  9. Work closely with project managers, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones are met on time and within budget.
  10. Document technical specifications, code documentation, and deployment processes to facilitate collaboration and knowledge sharing within the team.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  2. Proven experience as a WordPress Developer with a strong portfolio showcasing custom WordPress themes, plugins, and websites.
  3. Proficiency in WordPress theme and plugin development using PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/jQuery, and MySQL.
  4. Solid understanding of responsive web design principles, cross-browser compatibility, and web accessibility standards.
  5. Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and modern development workflows (e.g., Agile, Scrum).
  6. Familiarity with web performance optimization techniques, SEO best practices, and security principles.
  7. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail with a strong focus on delivering high-quality solutions.
  8. Effective communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  9. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and project requirements while meeting deadlines and quality standards.
  10. WordPress certification (e.g., WordPress Certified Developer) is a plus.
